Winter’s Last Herah

Handsome, Straight, Eye-Catching Guy Is Kind, Quiet, Friendly & Well-Broke To Ride

Description:

‘Tyee’ is a brightly colored 16-year-old Paint gelding with good, muscular balanced conformation and nice bone. He was kept a stallion until a four-year-old, but never bred; then purchased by his current owner and gelded. In his new family he received lots of ground training using Natural Horsemanship methods and was well-started with all the basics under saddle. He was ridden lightly on the trails where he would cross water and handled steep hills confidently. The family got busy and Tyee was turned out for a couple of years, then was sent to a professional reining horse trainer for a total of three months. The trainer said he was a nice horse to work with and while there Tyee learned to neck rein, tuck his head in the bridle and established a great whoa. He was brought home and ridden lightly in the arena and on trails (where he never offered to buck or do ANYTHING naughty) then due to starting a new family business, once again went out into the pasture with other horses and cattle. His owner really loves Tyee and thought that she would get more time to ride and enjoy him over the next year or two. Well, the family business has become a great success and his owner has finally realized that she needs to find Tyee another home where he can be loved-on and enjoyed. Tyee has a great personality and is the one in the field who will be following you around, leaning over your shoulder and then running off with your fencing tools! Tyee has always been sound, healthy and kept up on his shots and worming. The pictures above were JUST taken recently, and Tyee was worked in the round pen for just a few minutes, then saddled and bridled without issue and ridden around the pen and farm. He is a nice gelding who might do well with a intermediate teen-ager or in OHSET or even 4H. He lives in the Madras area of central Oregon. We are hoping to take more pictures soon to better show his conformation.
