'Strawberry' was purchased as a suckling filly beside her dam from the well-respected reining, cutting and cowhorse Atwood Ranch in 2008.  Raised with lots of handling by experienced horsemen, she is trusting, confident, willing and has never been abused in any way nor has she ever been in any wrecks. Strawberry has excellent ground manners, is very loving, gentle and easy to get along with. Her conformation is excellent with plenty of muscle, bone and good solid feet to help keep her sound as she matures. Strawberry was sent out to a professional trainer where she spent almost a year in preparation of her becoming an outstanding performance horse in working cowhorse or reining. She has a great stop, a smooth walk, trot and lope and a nice turnaround. She has been ridden in clinics and hauled through California and Oregon, but has not yet been shown. Strawberry is a lovely young mare with an excellent foundation, is 100% SOUND, has NO VICES and is ready to move on to an experienced new owner to start into competitions. Most of Strawberry's under saddle experiences and training have been in arenas, but she has also been out on the trails and gone bravely through high water and across bridges with no problems. She is very curious and sensitive and can be a bit reactive when out by herself (at this point she is more confident with another horse or two) but with more time and wet saddle blankets she will just get better and better. If you are wanting an exceptionally well-bred, athletic and GOOD MINDED young horse to move into serious competitions on, you really should meet Strawberry. She lives in central Oregon and will only be sold to a knowledgeable new owner/rider who wants a wonderful new partner who won't let her breeding, training and skills go to waste.
