"Bacardi" is a very pretty, sweet and quiet little 6-year-old solid dark buckskin Paint-bred mare. She has correct conformation with a cute head, LONG slender shapely neck, good wither, nice hip, and refined legs with solid, hard black hooves which hold up well barefoot. Bacardi has received lots of handling since birth and is loving, kind and tries hard to please. She bonds easily with a new person who shows her attention and nickers and comes to a whistle when you head into the barn. She is mannerly; easy to catch; ties quietly; is good to bathe, clip, trim her hooves, and loads and hauls well. In a pasture situation, Bacardi gets along well with others and is low in the 'pecking' order. Bacardi's previous owner said she had never bucked, reared nor done anything 'bad' under saddle. She doesn't get spooked by hardly anything and has been exposed to 4-wheelers, motorcycles, farm animals (chickens, sheep, cattle, dogs and cats) plus ridden down the road, on trails in the hills and BLM, and through irrigation ditches.  Bacardi has a light mouth, is responsive to leg/spur, has a good walk, can slow her jog or do a good posting-trot and picks up her leads. She also knows how to side-pass and backs well with her nose tucked in and no gaping at the bit. This kind little mare would be cute as a HUS horse, could go into 4H with a confident youth and is surefooted, good on trails and JUST THE RIGHT SIZE to mount easily. Bacardi is being sold because her owner doesn't ride any more and Bacardi deserves more attention, love and fun.
