Blue is a well-bred and VERY handsome coming 8-year-old AQHA gelding with correct, balanced conformation including a nice head, well-set neck with good withers, short back, powerful hindquarters and straight, well-boned legs with solid, dark feet. He is truly a blue roan who is dark silvery-blue/gray with black mane, tail and legs in Spring and Summer, but turns nearly black in Winter as shown in his recent photos above. He was purchased by his owner as a well started 3-year-old, and his owner has enjoyed putting ground and round pen manners as well as many hundreds of trail miles on Blue over the last five years. Blue's breeding predicts that he should be athletic and have lots of cow-sense, both of which he certainly has shown. As his owner has reached 'Grandpa' age and isn't as active in the saddle as he has been in the past, he realizes that Blue is bored with only being ridden on trails occasionally. Therefore, he is offering to sell Blue to a knowledgeable horseman who will appreciate his quickness, athletic abilities and hopefully, let Blue play with cattle in sorting, penning, ranch horse versatility, or similar venues. Blue is kind and honest and while not a really 'in your pocket' kind of guy - a bit more businesslike - he enjoys being groomed, and has good manners both on the ground and under saddle. Blue's gaits are pleasant with a brisk, ground-covering walk, comfortable trot and nice lope. His owner firmly believes that Blue's abilities are only limited by his rider's skills and that Blue will do best with a confident intermediate or better horseman. Blue lives part of the year up in Minnesota, but is currently down in Wickenburg, Arizona for several months being enjoyed on the trails by his owner. He is healthy, sound, has no vices, brand new shoes and is ready to move on to a more challenging home and rider.
