Beau is a real eye-catcher with his hard-to-find buttermilk buckskin color, plus chrome on his face and all four legs. He has a quiet, friendly disposition with a curious and sensible nature. Purchased as a big, lightly-started two-year-old by his current owner, Beau has received lots of round-pen training using Natural Horsemanship methods to create a strong bond and trust as well as respect for his owner. He has proved to be a very pleasurable student to work with - a quick learner who was willing and seldom presented resistance or difficulty in new situations. Beau was purchased in Arizona, but has traveled back and forth numerous times in the last several years to his summer home in Minnesota. He is a good hauler, loading and riding quietly in a homemade two-horse straight load trailer and eats, drinks and relaxes well in new surroundings. Beau's owner/trainer has undergone some health set-backs in the past year and realizes that Beau might enjoy a new home where he can receive lots of love, attention and riding in the arena or best yet, on trails. Beau has been ridden mostly CROSS-COUNTRY in the hills and deserts - not just on boring trails or dirt roads - and he bravely tackles steep rocky slopes both up and down, heavy brush and streams as requested by his rider without refusal. He has also been ridden in the famous Wickenburg Gold Rush Days parade several times, and safely carried his rider through all the noise and excitement. Beau is still in a snaffle and starting to neck-rein; he picks up both leads upon request, backs, and can handily open and close a gate without his rider dismounting. He stands still to mount from either side, and is mannerly on the ground and to handle his feet. Beau's owner really loves him and will ONLY sell him to a good home where Beau will be appreciated and well cared for. Beau has never had any colic nor founder issues, and is ready to move on to a new intermediate or better rider (due to his young age) to enjoy. Beau is presently living in Wickenburg, Arizona.
